INTERNATIONAL CHORAL FESTIVAL 2009
4-8 July
Venue: Dewan Sri Pinang
Objective of the organizers is to promote greater appreciation of choral music, especially in the AsiaPacific region, through an exchange of music and culture when chorister from different countries and the various judges. This would strengthen the choral movement in the region and establish friendships among the participants.

BON ODORI FESTIVAL 2009
Location:Esplanade, Penang
Bon Odori Festival is a Japanese Buddhist observance honouring the spirits of ancestors, who return once a year to visit their families. Tradisional dance is performed to entertain the spirits of the ancestors. Boon Odori 2008 attracted around 50,000 locals and tourists. Fireworks of 15 minutes will be displyed at 10pm.

The World Heritage Committee meeting in Quebec City added George Town to UNESCO’s World Heritage List on 7 July 2008. I came across this brochure titled Georgetown Penang Unesco World Cultural Heritage City. Attached included the Georgetown street map and heritage buildings introduction. I found it to be very useful for sharing.
